Testimonials
You’re a truly amazing woman! I sit in awe of all your accomplishments because you truly are an inspiration and role model to women. Our conference was all about positive attitude and leadership, you captured it all. The format of your break-out sessions was truly the “key” to bringing about great dialog between you and participants. I was excited to listen to their thoughts and ideas on how to bring about change in an organization as large as ours. I especially appreciated your comments on the “Ms. Butterworths” types and how women don’t need to play that role in organizations to be successful.
Areva, your leadership has inspired me to reach out for more and view myself not only as an employee, but as a “true” leader in our organization. I thank you for that powerful message.
Next year’s conference will be not only great, but we will focus on women in leadership such as you, who help open the doors for others. Again, thank you for inspiring us all!
Take care. T.

I have my eye on a fantastic pair of red pumps…I plan to buy them and wear them in your honor.

Your book is captivating, motivating, intriguing from the perspective of the reader we want to learn more about your grandmother, her best friend Ethel who created, molded and shaped you--Areva. I was deeply moved and was reduced to tears (I literally cried) when I read about the love. commitment level, sheer fortitude of Ethel and your grandmother, as well as their value of education and their foresight that education levitates one's "Journey to the Top". Areva, your book is invigorating, as it allows one to question societal roles placed upon women ie, passive nurturers. I was particularly drawn to p17 ".., when women learn to fight for themselves with the same vigor and enthusiasm in which they fight for their children and other family member, they will reap tremendous benefits- and you can start now". Reflectively, it propounded the notion that have stopped 'fighting for me' and as a single mother I am just fighting for my kids, but I have forgotten my hopes and aspirations.
Introspectively, it was as though your book was just talking to me to challenge myself.
Thank you for sending an autographed book to me; I will treasure it forever as I embark upon my journey. May God bless you in all that you do ,and I will share your book with my coworkers.
Congrats again!Andrea K.

Dear Ms. Martin,
Last night I finished reading your book and I don't have the words to describe all that I am presently feeling. I will summarize by stating that you've done an amazing job and I'm truly inspired!
CONGRATULATIONS on all of your successes and for such an inspirational book which I personally and professionally consider to be a true blessing. I look forward to working with you and seeing you in Fresno. Even though the book was designed primarily for women, I have expressed to Raul, my husband, how healthy and rewarding it would be for men to read your book too.
Sincerely,
